Germany: AfD urges supporters to vote for ‘serious deportation’ in regional elections

The AfD held its final rally in Konigs Wusterhausen near Berlin on Friday, ahead of the upcoming regional elections in Brandenburg and Saxony.

The top candidates Bjorn Hocke, Andreas Kollbitz and Jorg Urban voiced their opposition to the current refugee policies of Germany, promising relief if the AfD should secure a win.

“Vote for imprisonment of unidentified illegal immigrants. Vote for serious deportation. Vote for border checkups. Vote for material compensation instead of financial compensation for refugees. Vote for AfD on Sunday,” said Jorg Urban, AfD candidate for Saxony.

A counter demonstration was also held in the town, when demonstrators can be seen carrying anti-AfD placards and banners.

The regional elections are set to take place on Sunday in the East German states of Brandenburg and Saxony.
