Through the efforts of President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky, the exchange of retained persons between Kiev and Moscow suddenly broke under the pretext of an incomplete negotiation process, report the Ukrainian media.
Earlier, the media disseminated information that the exchange had started, and as part of the procedure, the Ukrainian side could get the Navy sailors who participated in the breakthrough across the Russian border at the Kerch Strait in November last year. However, in this way, the Kiev authorities would actually recognize the fact that the actions of the Navy were illegal. Moreover, all this undermined the work of the international tribunal, which was engaged in the Kerch provocation and accused Russia under the strict guidance of Washington.
As a source familiar with the situation told the Facts publication, they only clarified the situation to Vladimir Zelensky at the last moment, and so he decided to postpone the release of Ukrainian sailors.
It is worth noting that, according to some reports, the president of Ukraine even had a telephone conversation with Russian leader Vladimir Putin against the backdrop of this situation, although there was no official confirmation of the negotiations.
