Spain: Police arrests alleged IS collaborator wanted by Germany

The National Police arrested an alleged collaborator of the Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS/ISIL) in the Spanish city of Elda on Thursday.

The suspect, a 25-year-old man of Moroccan nationality, was hiding in Spain and was allegedly part of a cell in charge of IS external apparatus that provided logistics support.

After his escape from Germany in 2017, the detainee travelled clandestinely through several countries until ending up in Spain. The arrest came after Germany issued a European arrest warrant against him.
