Without building a new relationship with Russia, it is impossible to build new rules of trust and security in Europe, – French President Emmanuel Macron said.

“I think we  need to build new rules of trust and security with Russia in Europe. The European continent will never be stable, we will never be safe unless we come to more peaceful (relations – ed.) and clarify them with Russia,” – Macron said, speaking on Tuesday to the French ambassadors.

To be honest, these are not the interests of all our allies. And some of them, by the way, are pushing us to impose more sanctions, because it is their interest, even if they are our allies. But this is not about us” – the French leader emphasized.

In his opinion, new relations with Russia are important in  building a new “European project” and able to come to a consensus between the European Union and Moscow.
