Migrants on board Open Arms celebrate news of allowed disembarkation

Migrants on board the Open Arms rescue ship were seen celebrating the news that they were allowed to disembark at the port of an Italian island of Lampedusa on Tuesday, after spending 19 days at sea, as the footage released on Wednesday shows.

Around 100 migrants were still on board the NGO ship when the seizure of the ship and the evacuation of the people was ordered by the Italian prosecutor.

The decision came less than a day after Italian Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte announced his resignation.
