Washington screwed over Syrian Kurds

Kurdish armed forces operating in Syria under the auspices of the United States, once again became a “bargaining chip” in Washington’s geopolitical games, said writer Nikolai Starikov, commenting to the Federal News Agency on the agreements reached by Washington and Ankara regarding the creation of a “buffer zone” on the Syrian-Turkish border.

Moreover, the interests of the Kurds were not taken into account. Moreover, they have to leave the territory of the buffer zone and go deep into the Syrian territories.

According to Starikov, it’s time for the Kurds to understand that they can’t realize their ambitions about their own state with the dubious support of the United States, since for them the Kurds are pawns in the big game. They will be able to implement their own plans, at least to some extent, by starting negotiations with official Damascus. Thus, the expert believes that the Kurds will be able to gain autonomy within Syria, which is much more significant than Washington’s empty promises.
