Former Federal Army General Joachim Wundrak accused Chancellor Angela Merkel (CDU) of undermining Germany’s foundations. The state is made up of people, a national territory, and a legal system, Wundrak said in an interview for Junge Freiheit.
“Ms. Merkel undermines all three — by the open borders of state territory, mass cultural immigration, a policy of breaking the law and transferring sovereignty to the state order,” the lieutenant general warned.
This also served as the reason for his joining the Alternative for Germany (AfD) party. Wundrak running for mayor in Hanover.
Prior to joining AfD, the Air Force General was a member of the CDU for six years. However, he resigned in 2014 because, according to him, the government, led by Angela Merkel, did nothing to combat the “then-hidden mass immigration.”
Instead of fighting illegal immigration, the government made every effort to hide the problem.
“It was clear to me that I should actively fight this policy, because it is intentionally directed against the interests of our state and people. And the only party that opposes this is AfD. “
Wundrak also said that all defense ministers after Rudolf Sharping (SPD) were unable to “ensure that the armed forces get what they need.” And this is not a question of money, the ex-general explained.
“There is money, this is a matter of prioritization: but politics rather distributes gifts in the elections, inflates the social sector or directs them to refugee politics. Therefore, it is not surprising that the Bundeswehr is in this state today. ”
