Protesters gathered outside the gates of Sana’a International Airport on Friday, to demand the lifting of the air embargo and allow passengers and patients in need of medical treatment abroad to travel.
Protesters were also seen holding banners condemning the military aggression of the Saudi led-coalition and requesting intervention from the United Nations and the international community.
The airport’s full closure began in March 2015, due to a blockade enforced by Saudi Arabia, after a ballistic missile was reportedly fired from Yemen at an international airport near the Saudi capital.
