Hundreds of activists dressed in black staged a rally at the arrivals’ terminal of the Hong Kong International airport on Friday.
It marked the first of three days of unauthorised anti-government demonstrations that were announced by protesters .
Footage shows activists sitting on the floor, preparing leaflets and then trying to hand them over to passengers going through the arrivals’ gates.
“We are now spreading the leaflet about [the] anti-extradition law. So, we want to spread out our message about the current situation in Hong Kong, about what we request for the government to do for us,” said Gribel Wong, one of protesters.
Protests have been taking place in Hong Kong since the end of March. Demonstrators are calling for the total withdrawal of a suspended bill that would allow the extradition of the city’s residents to mainland China for trials.
