Between 10 to 12,5 billion tons of glacier ice has reportedly melted in the Kangerlussaq region of Greenland in the Kingdom of Denmark on August 1, as the extent of the meltwater shows in footage on Tuesday.
According to the Danish Meteorological Institute (DMI), cited in media, the Greenland ice sheet experienced a loss of 197 gigatonnes of ice over the course of July.
Climatologists have indicated July as the hottest month globally recorded.
