Russian Military Satellite Put Into Intended Orbit Successfully

The Russian Defence Ministry said on Tuesday that its military satellite that was launched earlier in the day from the Baikonur cosmodrome atop a Proton-M carrier rocket was put into calculated orbit successfully.

“The Proton-M heavy carrier rocket, launched today, on August 6, at 00.56 Moscow time [21:56 GMT] from the Baikonur cosmodrome (Republic of Kazakhstan), has successfully taken the satellite to the intended orbit in the prescribed time”, the Defence Ministry said.

The operation was carried out in a normal regime, the ministry said, adding that the Russian Aerospace Forces was tracking the satellite.
