Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that Turkey’s army will ‘enter to the east of the Euphrates’, speaking in Bursa on Sunday. “We have entered Afrin, we have entered Jarabulus, we have also entered Al Bab and now we will enter to the east of the Euphrates. We have shared this information with Russia as well as the USA. Because we cannot keep quiet while these harassment fires are going on,” said Erdogan. In 2018, Turkey conducted an operation in and around the Syrian town of Afrin as part of the Turkish-led military operation ‘Olive Branch’ against Syrian Kurdish forces. Erdogan was speaking at the inauguration of the Istanbul-Izmir highway.
