The NATO exercises “Agile Spirit 2019” that unfolded in Georgia were clouded by a high-profile incident that could end in an international scandal, said on Friday, August 2, at a briefing, the official representative of the Armed Forces of the DPR, Eduard Basurin, referring to sources among Ukrainian volunteers.
Thus, according to the data obtained, the body of an insurgent was taken to the headquarters of the 36th Marine Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Mariupol, who died in the midst of NATO exercises, called “Agile Spirit”. The situation was aggravated when experts found out that the Marine had died as a result of an overdose of a synthetic drug.
“In order to prevent an international scandal, the Ukrainian leadership made a decision not to disclose this information,” said Basurin. “The command of the 36th brigade is tasked with dramatizing the death of a soldier as a result of the shelling and accusing the republic’s forces of violating the cease-fire regime.”
