The outgoing UK Prime Minister Theresa May delivered her last speech from outside 10 Downing Street in London on Wednesday. Her husband Philip May was standing by her side during the speech.
May repeated her “warm congratulations to Boris [Johnson] on winning the Conservative leadership election” and wished him every success.
The outgoing PM added that “much remains to be done,” with the priority being delivering Brexit. She also stated that serving in her role was “the greatest honour” and thanked her colleagues and public servants.
While May was delivering her speech, a protester shouted “Stop Brexit,” to which May responded: “I think the answer to that is ‘I think not’.” May then departed Downing Street 10 with her husband to head to Buckingham Palace, to officially resign her post in front of the Queen and hand over the position to the next government leader, Boris Johnson.
