Ukraine’s Central Election Commission (CEC) suggested on Sunday in Kiev that incumbent president Volodymyr Zelensky’s party “Servant of the People” received almost half of all votes, leaving other parties behind in Ukraine’s parliamentary elections.
According to the CEC, the “Servant of the People” party received 39.5 per cent of votes. Former Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko’s ‘Fatherland’ party received the second highest amount of votes at 10.55 per cent. Following up was former President Petro Poroshenko’s ‘European Solidarity’ with 8.95 per cent, Oleg Lyashko’s Ukraine’s Radical Party with 8.62 per cent, and former Vice Prime Minister Yuriy Boyko’s ‘Opposition platform – for the life’ with 6.74 per cent.
The election turnout was 49.79 per cent, according to the CEC, and final election results are expected within 15 days.
According to the Internal Affairs Ministry, 71 criminal case were opened due to election violations across the country.
Zelensky announced the dissolution of the Rada and the appointment of a new election immediately after taking office.
