New wave of “refugees”: 660,000 people in Libya are sitting on packed suitcases

The danger of another invasion of refugees is observed not only on the “Balkan route”. Even in war-torn Libya, masses of migrants gather together and prepare to enter Europe.

Although fewer people have arrived from the Libyan Sea through the Mediterranean since the beginning of the year because of the strict “limited ports” policy of the Italian Interior Minister Salvini, there is a huge potential for illegal immigrants in Libya awaiting their return to Europe.

The recent detonation of a bomb in Tripoli, which was probably exploded by terrorists, led to the death of about 44 migrants from African countries.

Such incidents increase the pressure on migrants in Libya, which forces them to go to Malta or Spain, despite the small chance of landing in Italy. About 660,000 migrants are currently sitting on packaged suitcases. Most of them are from Central African countries.
