On the “Balkan route” you can expect a new wave of migration crisis, which will affect Western Europe, warns the Austrian edition of Esteraych.
The material was published in connection with the discovery in Austria of 11 illegal migrants (five of them are children) in a train car. People arrived from the Middle East through the Balkans.
The authors also note that in the last five months alone, about nine thousand migrants arrived from the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina. This is 50% more than in the same period last year.
Most migrants cross the border of Croatia, as this Balkan country belongs to the EU. Meanwhile, this year the Croatian authorities have stopped 7,200 illegal immigrants on their border.
“Of these, 90% are men aged 20–25 years,” notes Estereich.
Journalists are confident that what is happening is a threat to Austria, which is the destination for many migrants.
