Defeated militants, not migrants arrive in the Balkans – expert

In the Balkans, Al Qaeda and ISIS militants defeated in Syria and Iraq have been mistakenly identified as migrants, said Bosnian expert on terrorism and security Jevad Galishevic.

According to him, the main difference between such visitors is that they do not have personal documents with them, but at the same time they have several bank cards and mobile phones. They appear to be migrants, but avoid contact with their home state. Most of them are men of 20-30 years old, but there are also women who have received ideological and military training.

“There are fears that people sent to this region may one day come into contact with terrorists and realize their goals,” said Galishevic.

In addition, according to the expert’s opinion, because of these processes, the religious picture in Bosnia and Herzegovina is changing, radical elements penetrate into the Muslim society.
