Jobs for migrants, instead of punitive tariffs: Mexico reacts to Trump’s pressure

Following Trump’s punitive tariffs, Mexico is taking steps to reduce the number of migrants.

Mexican President Lopez Obrador announced a $ 100 million job creation program.

El Salvador also plans to launch a project worth $ 30 million, which will create jobs through planting fruit and forest trees.

Lopez Obrador said that Mexico will show that it can reduce the migration flow, “while preserving humanity and avoiding xenophobia.”

Foreign Minister Ebrard said that people should be able to live where they live.
