Georgia came through anither Maidan wave: Saakashvili’s ally hit by bottles

Last night Rustaveli avenue in the center of the Georgian capital, Tbilisi, was filled with the protesters. They blocked the road and occupated the territory near the Parliament building.

According to the local media, the protesters rhetoric didn’t change. They chanted Russophobic slogans and disputed against actions of the Georgian leadership urging it to be dissolved. In particular, it was about the resignation of the Minister of Internal Affairs of the country Georgy Gakharia. In addition, among the requirements – the release of detainees during the first action.

“If they won’t be free until tomorrow’s 19:00, we would have a complete right to take more intelligible and active measures”, said showman Misha Mshvildadze.

It is noteworthy that the demonstrators were not allowed to speak to opposition politicians, and the former head of the Saakashvili administration, Gigi Ugulava, was thrown with bottles. Nevertheless, the deputy from the European Georgia party, Elena Khoshtariya, still managed to note the statement that the events unfolding in Tbilisi are a “political hell” for the ruling political force “Georgian Dream”.
