Iranian President Hassan Rouhani stated that Iran would not wage war against any nation, noting that those opposing Iran were “a group of inexperienced politicians.” He spoke at the inauguration ceremony of the Imam Khomeini International Airport’s (IKIA) Salam Terminal-Gallery in Tehran on Tuesday.
In a speech broadcast by Iranian state TV, Rouhani said, “our opposition is not a nation, we do not fight against any nation, our opposition is a group of inexperienced politicians.”
The Iranian president stressed that those who stand against Iran “will not achieve success,” adding that the Iranian nation “will be victorious at the end of this conflict.”
Rouhani’s remarks come after the US announced it would deploy additional troops to the Middle East as tensions continue to rise between Tehran and Washington.
