Bosnia and Herzegovina: Three officers and several migrants injured in police operation

Three officers and a number of migrants were injured in a police raid in the city of Bihac on Friday. Law enforcement officers were looking for suspects who took part in clashes with police last night. Local media reports that more than 130 undocumented foreigners were detained at a family house and taken to a migration centre in the area.

Footage shows injured officers accompanied by colleagues to be taken to hospital as well as migrants receiving medical treatment.

Aid groups warned of a developing humanitarian crisis in Bosnia and Herzegovina where more migrants have been arriving in attempt to enter the EU via the neighbouring Croatia. One of the poorest countries in Europe, Bosnia has been struggling to help tens of thousands of newly-arrived people from Pakistan, Bangladesh, Iraq, Syria and Afghanistan. Some of them were recently involved in clashes between different groups of migrants in Bihac and other cities in northewestern Bosnia.
