Haiti: Fires blaze as police clash with anti-govt protesters in Port-au-Prince

Riot police clashed with protesters demanding the resignation of Haitian President Jovenel Moisein Port-au-Prince on Monday.

Amid a two-day general strike called by the opposition, protesters blocked roads and set tires on fire in the middle of the Haitian capital’s streets. Vehicles belonging to a local radio station Radio Tele Ginen (RTG) accused of working with the government were also set ablaze.

Nation-wide protests have taken over Haiti as demonstrators have been calling for further investigation into allegedly embezzled funds from subsidized oil shipments from Venezuela.
