US president Donald Trump said the telecom giant Huawei could possibly become part of a trade deal with China. Trump was speaking at the White House in Washington DC on Thursday.
“Huawei is something very dangerous. You look at what they’ve done from a security standpoint, from a military standpoint, it’s very dangerous. So it’s possible that Huawei even would be included in some kind of a trade deal,” said the US president.
Donald Trump also commented on the release from prison of John Walker Lindh, an American who was captured fighting in Afghanistan in 2001.
Trump said: “We’ll be watching him closely. What bothers me more than anything else is that here’s a man who has not given up his proclamation of terror. And we have to let him out.”
When asked if he could send troops to the Middle East to counter Iran, Trump said that he would do so if it was necessary.
