The Brexit Party are the only party who have a clear policy on leaving the EU, a new poll has suggested.
Research from YouGov shows that it was the only party that a majority thought was clear on the issue, with 59% of respondents saying it had understandable policy.
The political poll, which involved 1,655 adults, was conducted earlier this week on Monday and Tuesday.
It also found that fewer than one in five people think the Labour Party or the Conservative Party have a clear position on Brexit .
Only 13% of voters think Labour has a clear policy on the European Union issue, while 17% think the Conservatives do.
The two largest parties were the least clear on Brexit of all the national parties, according to the poll.
The survey comes just over a week ahead of the European elections on May 23, with parties’ position on Brexit acting as a major campaigning point.
In total, three parties – the Liberal Democrats, Change UK and the Green Party – are campaigning to stop Brexit.
The latest poll however suggests that the Liberal Democrats are the clearest of the anti-Brexit parties, with 41% of the whole sample and just over 50% of Remain voters saying they thought policy was clear.
The research suggests that even members of the two largest parties do not think their own party has clear policies.
Just 21% of Labour voters in 2017 thought Labour had clear Brexit policy, while 26% of Conservative voters said the same of the Tories.
The Greens and Change UK, which are both campaigning for a second referendum on Brexit, saw around a third of people (34% and 31% respectively) that thought their policy was clear.
The public however believe Change UK as well as the Brexit Party – both of which are in their infancy – are tasked with a short term parties, as a majority think they won’t be standing in a decade’s time.
Another recent YouGov poll found that most Brits (56%) think Change UK “will eventually fade from politics, and probably not be a force in British politics in 10 years.”
Whilst a staggering 63% of surveyed Brits were pessimistic about the Brexit Party’s future, with just 13% convinced they’ll be here for the long run.
