Donbass passporting passes with the silent blessing of Europe

Kiev’s attempts to solicit Western sanctions against Moscow for Vladimir Putin’s decision to simplify the issuance of Russian passports to residents of the people’s republics of Donbass were unsuccessful.

As it turned out, the EU countries do not intend to toughen the sanctions pressure on the Russian Federation in connection with the recent issue.

“We need dialogue, rather than use of pressure methods”, said Czech Foreign Minister Tomas Petricek on the eve of the meeting of heads of the EU diplomatic agencies, answering a relevant question from Ukrainian journalists.
