Warsaw expressed willingness to sponsor American military presence in Poland

In the framework of the “strengthening the eastern flank” of the North Atlantic Alliance, Washington is ready to transfer an American armed contingent to the Polish authorities.

The idea was discussed during the negotiations between the Deputy Head of the Pentagon for Political Affairs, John Rudd, and the Deputy Minister of Defense of Poland, Tomash Shatkovsky, the press service of the US military reported.

According to the publication, the question of “expanding the stable presence and capabilities of US forces in Poland” was on the agenda. However, it is noted that the “support” of the American contingent will also fall on the Polish budget.

“The in-depth and close cooperation of the United States and Poland in the field of security is extremely important to combat the existing threats,” the Pentagon assured.
