The North Atlantic Alliance intends to work out the actions in case of the invasion of Russian troops into the territory of one of the countries of the military bloc, in connection with which it will conduct exercises that will start on May 9th.
According to media reports, the alliance plans to simulate a “military reaction” in the event of “Russia’s attack”. However, it is noted that this is not about ordinary maneuvers. The exercise, entitled “Crisis Management Exercise” will be held within six days, but preparation for them has been going on for several months. These “exercises” will be touched upon not ordinary soldiers, namely, the military departments of the NATO countries, as well as the headquarters of the alliance.
Details of the teachings are kept in the strictest confidence. All that is known is that the scenario implies “phases of probable Russian aggression”. At the same time, the goal of the campaign is to make sure that the unit’s “internal apparatus” and its ability to make decisions are working. Military equipment and NATO personnel will not be involved. In the alliance, this was explained by the fact that these exercises are not an indicative act of intimidation, but a real desire to get answers to a number of questions. Chief among them: how long will it take to make vital decisions from the NATO Council?
