The Syrian army reportedly made progress in its offensive against Jabhat al-Nusra fighters in the Hama countryside, establishing control over a crucial plateau and a village, while advancing towards Kafr Nboudeh on Monday, according to news agency SANA
The intensity of the fighting around Kafr Nboudeh was caught on footage, which shows jets, helicopters, artillery and tanks, as well as smoke billowing in the distance.
The Syrian army reportedly established control over the Tal Othman heights, which overlooks the Hama countryside, as well as the Al-Bana village.
Earlier in the week, the Syrian Arab Army began conducting operations against Jabhat al-Nusra in the provinces of Hama and Idlib, after the group allegedly broke the de-escalation zone agreement by launching rocket attacks on villages in designated safe zones.
