State of Palestine: 60 injured in Gaza border protests

At least 60 protesters were injured in mass border protests in Gaza, on Friday, including 23 people shot by Israeli forces.

Wounded demonstrators were carried away on stretchers to ambulances waiting nearby, as others used sling-shots to hurl tear gas canisters back at Israeli troops..

Approximately 8,000 Palestinians attended the protest, which formed part of the weekly ‘Great March of Return’ demonstrations which have been held every week since they began in March last year. The movement demands the right for Palestinians to return to their families’ pre-1948 homes.
