Russian Orthodox priest Viktor Potapov, who has visited Russian citizen Maria Butina multiple times during her detention in the United States, says that he was not allowed to meet with her on Thursday ahead of the scheduled sentencing hearing the following day.
Butina is detained in the United States on charges of conspiring to act as a foreign agent.
Butina was arrested in mid-July of 2018 and imprisoned in Washington, DC before being transferred to the Alexandria detention center.
