The international conference “Balkan Dialogue-2019” officially started on April 16 in the capital of Bulgaria, which will be held until April 20.
The Balkan Dialogue is one of the most successful and leading international events in the framework of the projects of the Gorchakov Foundation, which is held every year in different countries of the region and is aimed at deepening and developing relations between the Balkans and Russia.
This year the international conference is held in Bulgaria, where experts and young specialists from the field of international relations, students and media representatives will meet.

During the intensive program of the Balkan Dialogue, the chief editor of the Serbian editorial office managed to talk with the head of the National Movement Russophiles Bulgaria, Nikolai Malinov, who discussed the current state of relations between Bulgaria and Russia after the round table on the topic “Media as a tool to shape public opinion and change public worldviews in the Balkans “.

It became known earlier that a small number of independent media in Bulgaria are under pressure, and even some new media law is planned to be drafted, which to a large extent can restrict freedom of speech, under the guise of “synchronization with European requirements” and increasing censorship.
Those media that work in unison with the European “melody” do not encounter problems as they clearly work on the EU-set broadcasting line, which the head of the Union of Bulgarian Journalists noted in her speech.
And then a small number of media representatives who do not succumb to Western dictation are now struggling to defend their right to work objectively and to resist in demonizing Russia, which in Bulgaria does not work, no matter how hard the West tries.
