US impose state of emergency amid measles outbreak

The largest city of the United States, an important global financial, political, economic and cultural center of New York is conquering the measles epidemic, which, as suggested in the United States, was brought from Ukraine, reports The Voice of Amerika.

According to reports, a state of emergency has already been introduced in some areas of the city. Of the 465 measles cases in the United States, 170 occurred in the state of New York. “These are record indicators for the last 28 years”, said in the message.

The outbreak of the disease is recorded in Rockland County, inhabited by Orthodox Jews who visit Ukraine to celebrate the Jewish New Year. Last year, the date fell to the beginning of September, and a few weeks later, a measles outbreak occurred in Israel, shifting to New York in October.

New York Mayor Bill De Blasio has already announced mandatory vaccination and a state of emergency: “This is the only way to stop this outbreak and make sure that those who have not been vaccinated will receive the vaccine. It is critically important for people to realize that the measles vaccine is working. It is safe, effective, time-tested.”
