Afghanistan: At least 2 killed after bomb attack in Jalalabad


An explosion killed at least two people and injured five others in Jalalabad in the east of Afghanistan on Monday.

Eyewitnesses recounted seeing the blast take place near a police vehicle, injuring nearby civilians.

One shopkeeper, whose clothes had been covered in blood from the incident, recalled evacuating his shop and trying to help an injured man.

“After I’d gotten out from my shop, I saw a shopkeeper lying on the ground with blood. We took him to hospital. There was another elderly man who lost his arm and died.”
