After the end of the Cold War, the West was marked by the choice of an extremely unsuccessful foreign policy strategy that made it extremely vulnerable to real threats and rivals, which means that in the near future this practice will have to be reconsidered, otherwise the price will be very high.

According to the author, the most tragic mistake of the West in the XXI century was the intervention in Ukraine with an attempt to draw it into own camp without taking into account the position of Moscow. Naturally, Russia did not appreciate such zeal, because in this way the country opens the south-western flank, making it vulnerable to a potential threat.
At the same time, the author notes that it was extremely pointless to get involved in the confrontation with Moscow, which seemed to have come to the end of the last century: “In attempts to corner an eastern bear, we only force him to look for allies on the side, for example China. “
Such a “union of the bear and the dragon” has become a real threat to the West right now, because the Russian and Chinese economies interact perfectly and complement each other. Against this background, the author recommends that you stop pushing Moscow to an alliance with Beijing: “We will develop a new security policy plan that will apply to everyone, including Russia. Nobody argues with the fact that it will be difficult, but sooner or later we must begin. ”
