Just more than 16% of Ukrainians cast their votes in the presidential election as of 11.00 a.m. on Sunday, the country’s Central Election Commission said on its website.
The highest voter turnout was registered in central Ukraine’s Kirovograd Region (21.62%), and the lowest figures were seen in the Zakarpatskaya Region, in the country’s southwest (7.95%).
According to the CEC, information on the voter turnout as of 11 a.m. was received from 81 out of a total of 199 constituencies, and the final figures will be announced by 1 p.m.
At the previous presidential election in 2014, the voter turnout as of 11 a.m. totaled 17.60%.
