Germany: Nord Stream 2 construction moving according to schedule

Stopping Nord Stream 2 is “political speculation,” said the projects spokesperson Jens Muller in Lubmin on Tuesday, as journalists visited the gas pipeline construction site on the German side.

Speaking in an interview, Muller also expressed confidence to receive the pending approval for a 180 km (112 miles) stretch of Denmark’s Baltic Sea, saying “The Nord Stream 2 project is being implemented according to schedule. More than 800 kilometres (497 miles) have been built. The landing parts in Russia and Germany – as we can see here – are in progress. Therefore we have all reason to predict that in 2019, we will be able to complete the project.”
