The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) released footage of rocket attacks which they claim were launched by Hamas on Monday evening.
In a tweet, the IDF said “dozens rockets” were being fired towards Israel.
Officials said Israel’s Iron Dome missile defence system shot several rockets down, while others fell in open fields. One house in Sderot was damaged, but no injuries were reported.
The latest outbreak of violence was sparked when a rocket hit a house north of Tel Aviv injuring seven people.
Israel blamed Hamas for the attack and retaliated by striking strategic targets inside the Gaza Strip.
No Palestinian group has said it fired the rocket.
