Serbian anti-NATO protesters thank Russian embassy for support during Balkan wars

In Belgrade, on the eve of the evening, on the 20th anniversary of the start of the NATO bombing of Yugoslavia, a patriotic action took place. Several thousand people first symbolically gathered in front of the building destroyed by one of the air attacks of the General Staff, then organized a procession headed for the Russian embassy in this country. There, the leaders of the mass action handed over a letter of appreciation: gratitude for the clear position of Moscow on the Kosovo issue and the condemnation of the bombing of Yugoslavia, expressed a few days before the anniversary of the UN Security Council. After that, the Serbs went to the Temple of Saint Sava, where they lit candles in memory of those killed during the NATO aggression.

During the rally at the General Staff, the speakers once again stated that NATO’s crimes in Serbia could not be forgotten or forgiven. They stressed that Kosovo is part of Serbia, and this cannot be the subject of discussion.

“We will never forget how NATO destroyed our country, killed civilians, women, children, innocent children. Because of them, our Kosovo has been under occupation for 20 years,” said the Serbian army veteran.

The participants chanted “Kosovo is the heart of Serbia”, “NATO is out of Serbia”, “Serbia, Russia – we don’t need the European Union”, “Kosovo – Serbia, Crimea – Russia”. During the rally, signatures were collected for the liquidation of the NATO office at the Serbian Ministry of Defense.

The procession approached the Russian ambassador with flares, patriotic songs and slogans, including Russian-Serbian friendship. Many carried the combined flags of Russia and Serbia. Three organizers gave the Russian diplomat a letter of thanks to Moscow’s position on the bombing of Yugoslavia, expressed the day before at the UN.

“We were assured. Russia firmly remains in its position on the issue of Kosovo and Metohija that it is necessary to comply with Resolution 1244,” confirmed one of the leaders of the action, Jovana Stojkovic, when she returned from the embassy. Her words greeted with applause.

“Russia in the UN Security Council stated that the bombing of Yugoslavia and the globalist globalist policy on Serbia was a precedent,” said Damnjan Knejevic in front of the embassy building. “We saw what happened in Libya, Iraq, Syria”.

“Those who protest every Saturday,” Knezhevich commented on the latest anti-government protests in organizing pro-Western politicians, “we didn’t see any demands for cancellation of the Marrakesh Agreement, according to which migrants are dispatched on the territory of the former Yugoslavia, neither the agreement with NATO nor the Brussels Treaty ( between Belgrade and Pristina, – Ed.).
