Putin says UK business can participate in implementing National Projects in Russia

Russian President Vladimir Putin invited the UK business to take part in implementation of National Projects at a meeting with representatives of the UK business community working in Russian.

“Hundreds of billions of dollars are planned to be invested into development of the most important sectors of the economy and the social sphere within the framework of National Projects in Russia. I do not misspoke, investments of hundreds of billions of dollars are exactly meant. I am confident your companies could take part in this work also. The market is fairly large,” Putin noted.

Implementation of national projects will have a comprehensive effect for dynamic growth of the country, which will open significant opportunities for business growth, including the business from the United Kingdom, the president added.

Accumulated British investment into the Russian economy is 23.8%, and Russian investment into the British economy is over $ 11 billion, Putin said.

“The accumulated British investments into the Russian economy now amount to 23.8%, and Russian investments into the British economy exceed $11 billion,” said the president, noting that there are over 600 enterprises working in Russia, with British participation, including engineering, pharmaceuticals, energy, fuel and energy, production and transportation of electricity and other innovative areas.

The Russian leader took the opportunity and invited representatives of the UK business community to take part in the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, which will be held on June 6-8.
