This year, 88 stripping operations took place in the northern provinces of Afghanistan, following which 3,771 militants were killed, said Adam Khan Matin, deputy commander of the 209th Shahin Army Corps.
The representative of the Afghan National Army said that among the insurgents killed were 64 foreign citizens, reports the TV channel “Tolo”.
According to information received by the press, the security forces also suffered serious losses during the fighting in the north of the country. However, a high-ranking military denied the message.
“Not a single checkpoint in the northern and northeastern provinces of the country is under siege,” said Matin.
He added that currently stripping operations continue in the northern provinces of Balkh, Kunduz and Baghlan.
Meanwhile, reports have been received from the provinces of Sari-Pul and Jowzjan on the seizure of territories by militants of the Taliban movement banned in Russia.
At the moment in the north of the country there is an increased activity of the Taliban. Over the past month, dozens of law enforcement officers have fallen victim to Taliban attacks.
Recall that recently in the north-western province of Badghis, about 50 employees of Afghan forces surrendered to the Taliban. To date, their fate remains unknown.
