Serbia Will Not Forget NATO Bombings – Vucic

Western aggression against Yugoslavia was beneficial to many, both in the administration of the United States and in the leadership of the North Atlantic Alliance, but the bombing brought only a short-term victory, the price of which is many innocent lives.

This was said on Monday, March 18, by Serbian President Alexander Vucic, opening the international conference “Twenty years after the bombing of Yugoslavia – lessons for European security in the 21st century”.

“Statistics show that over the past decades, sugar killed far more people than gunpowder, but Serbia will not be a country with similar statistics for a long time,” he said.

At the same time, the Serbian leader urged to always analyze what was happening with a cool head, recognizing, however, that it was difficult to hold back emotions, if you remember how many children died during the NATO bombings.

“We could forgive, but we will never forget the aggression of the North Atlantic alliance. We want to have a good relationship with him, but we don’t want to become part of it, ”he stressed.

At the same time, he noted that today the situation in the world is completely different: the bipolar system was replaced by a multipolar one: “We did not get rid of the age-old foundations of the conflict. We have a peculiar ghetto for Serbs and Albanians, and the situation will not change until both the Serbs and Albanians do not realize that they themselves must defend their future. ”
