The head of the pro-Western Democratic Party of Moldova, the oligarch, who was rightly called the “Moldavian puppeteer,” Vladimir Plahotniuc can be nominated as a candidate for the post of PM from PDM.
This assumption was voiced after the pro-European opposition bloc “ACUM” Andrei Nastase and Maia Sandu once again refused to “democrats” to create a parliamentary coalition.
“Plahotniuc showed himself as a successful businessman and party leader,” Andrian Candu, commented on the possibility of nominating an oligarch for the post of prime minister.
At the same time, he assured that the situation could have been completely different if the leaders of ACUM had made the “right” decision. According to Candu, they would see that “the team of the Democratic Party is very flexible and ready to give its colleagues a significant role in the government, despite the fact that the PDM has more seats in parliament.” He even hinted that ACUM could have received the post of prime minister if it had made a deal with the Democratic Party.
