The European Union confirms its contribution of 1.5 billion euros, or $1.7 billion, to a refugee facility in Turkey, EU foreign policy chief Federica Mogherini said Thursday at Third Brussels Conference “Supporting the future of Syria and the region.”
“I would like to confirm the European Union contribution of 1.5 billion euros to the second tranche of the facility for refugees in Turkey,” Mogherini said at a press conference.
Germany intends to allocate 1.44 billion euros ($1.63bln) as humanitarian assistance to the Syrian population, German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas said Thursday, commenting on agreements reached at the third international donor conference on Syria in Brussels.
