The administration of the United States is sending millions to a useless military presence in Afghanistan, while ordinary American taxpayers are recommended to engage in self-defense. This is the reverse side of “democracy”, told American columnist Tucker Carlson on the television channel Fox News.
According to him, in February, the sheriff of the Martin County of Kentucky was forced to send a very sad message to the residents, which read: “This law and order, which we have known for the last 4 years, no longer exists. We have no more cent. Lock the doors, arm, and buy a dog that can bark and bite, because if the sheriff’s management is no longer able to protect you, then who can do it?”
Carlson noted that Martin County is one of the poorest in the United States. Moreover, there is a problem with opiates, which means that local police need help more than ever, however, Washington is not in a hurry to allocate money for the needs of citizens, preferring to play their foreign policy games.
“Note that right now, when Martin County is left without money and cannot even afford the protection of people, Washington is sending huge amounts of money to Afghanistan,” the journalist said. “Since 2002, Congress has allocated more than $ 78 billion from the pockets of Americans to strengthen the army in Afghanistan.”
Only a tenth of a percent of the finances that go to Afghanistan would be enough to ensure the safety of the residents of Martin County for a decade, but for some reason officials do not think about it, Tucker Carlson stated.
