In the northern (Serb-populated) part of the city of Kosovska Mitrovica, in the autonomous province of Kosovo and Metohija, a rally was held against Pristina’s provocative actions.
We are talking about a series of political and economic measures directed against the Serbian population: the imposition of a 100 per cent duty on the importation of goods, including first-priority goods from Central Serbia; the attempts to nationalize the company “Trepcha” by the authorities of the self-proclaimed “Republic of Kosovo”; numerous arrests of politicians and activists, threats against members of families.
“We are already facing not only the issue of preserving national identity, but simply survival,” claimed on today’s action.
Citizens also expressed outrage at the silence of the international community, as there are still numerous peacekeeping and observation missions in Kosovo that monitor the development of the situation in the province.
