The US administration is taking desperate measures in its confrontation with Russia. So, the new and extremely dubious step was the decision to revive the program, which was developed during the Cold War.

According to media reports, the decision was made at the Office of Advanced Research Projects of the US Department of Defense. The program called “Assault Breaker” implies the development of new types of weapons, based on the developments previously designed to stop the mechanized and tank divisions of the army of the Soviet Union in the event of an attack on the European countries-members of NATO.
In addition, the concept assumed the elimination of the Soviet army with the help of homing bombs and aircraft systems capable of autonomously detecting enemy equipment. The program will involve Boeing E-8 Joint STARS combat control and targeting aircraft, as well as B-52 Stratofortress bombers. The Pentagon is also considering the possibility of installing sensors on ammunition that would allow detecting armored vehicles.
According to experts of the US military, the implementation of the program will take up to ten years.
