The ruling Moldovan Democratic Party is ready to go to extreme measures in an attempt to stay in power, because the upcoming parliamentary elections do not promise anything good for it.
The head of state Igor Dodon told about this during the “straight line” on the social network.
He drew attention to the fact that already on Thursday, February 21, the ruling coalition convenes a meeting of parliament, the reasons for which were not disclosed. Dodon believes that the outcome of such a meeting could be a conspiracy against him personally, as well as the Socialist Party – the main rival of the Democratic Party. The results of the meeting may be known on Friday, so the head of the republic urged citizens to be prepared for the most negative scenarios.
“I urge everyone on Thursday and Friday, and maybe tomorrow, to prepare for the fact that when I go out and call for tens of thousands of people to be here before the presidential administration,” he said, noting that the ruling party might not leave the option other than a strong popular protest.
As previously reported by News Front, the representative of the Party of Socialists of the Republic of Moldova, Vladimir Bukarsky, did not rule out that the American embassy in Chisinau would contribute to the political processes of the republic , forcing pro-Western political forces to unite.
