A petition demanding the cancellation of economic assistance and political support to the “criminal regime of Hashim Thaçi” in the self-proclaimed “Republic of Kosovo” was handed over to the US President Donald Trump by representatives of the Serbian diaspora on the eve of the Day of Serbia on February 15.
As stated in the document, this will help to stop the persecution against the non-Muslim population in the province, the destruction of monasteries and other traces of European culture.
The authors also note that the province of Kosovo and Metohija is the cradle of Serbian civilization and Serbian national identity, and that the Hashim Thaçi’s regime creates an army to bypass the UN resolution and the positions of the EU and NATO.
The petition, in addition to the cabinet of the President of the United States, was submitted to Foreign Secretary Mike Pompeo and to Congress.
