Kiev’s Plan Must Be Consistent With Minsk Deal

Any initiative regarding the Ukrainian reconciliation must be consistent with the Minsk agreements, Russia’s deputy UN envoy, Dmitry Polyansky, said, commenting on Kiev’s announcement of preparing a new plan for Donbass.

“Any plan must be consistent with the Minsk agreements and UN Security Council resolution 2202,” the diplomat told “During the latest UN Security Council session, OSCE representatives have once again clearly refuted allegations of Russian military presence in Ukraine, therefore, there can be no ‘de-occupation’ whatsoever.”

He also said that Russia’s proposal about a UN peacekeeping mission in the country remains on table.

“We are ready to begin working on it at any moment,” he said.

Ukraine’s Interior Minister Arsen Avakov earlier said during his visit to Washington that Kiev was developing a “new format” of eastern Ukraine’s reintegration, headlined “The Mechanism of Small Steps.”.
